Local Recreation Opportunities

In addition to exploring downtown Hope, there are several easy-to-walk trails on the outskirts of town. A fine trail has been laid down along nearby Resurrection Creek, part of a recent restoration project of Alaska Fish and Game. You can take a pleasant walk along the river or walk along Turnigan Inlet on the Gull Rock Trail. More strenuous levels of hiking are offered locally as are backpacking outings, wildlife viewing, world class guided drift boat and hike-in fishing trips, Alaska's best whitewater rafting, berry picking, breathtaking wildflower viewing and scenery, recreational gold panning, and freshwater fishing for salmon and trout.
