Directions to Hope, AK PDF Print E-mail

Location: Hope lies on the northern end of Kenai Peninsula, on Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet, 88 miles from Anchorage. The community lies on the 18-mile Hope Highway, northwest of the Seward Highway, near the mouth of Resurrection Creek.

Access: Take the Seward Highway south. You will pass Beluga Point, the community of Girdwood and Portage Glacier. The well maintained highway continues south over Turnigan Pass. Near the end of the Pass, you will see a sign indicating "Hope 5 miles". Four miles later you will see another sign "Hope 1 mile". You will turn right off the Seward Highway at Milepost 56.7 onto the Hope Highway. The Hope Highway winds along Canyon Creek and continues to parellel Turnigan Arm for 18 miles.

By Mile 14 on the Hope Highway, you will begin to see reduced speed signs slowing traffic as you reach the residential outskirts of Hope. Alaskan Byways B&B is the third driveway on the right just past the mile 16 sign. We'll see you there.
